WESLR / TAGCHECK · 1.0
Compare your I/O list
with your PLC tag export.
Reconcile an engineering spreadsheet with an exported PLC tag table. Find missing tags, duplicate names, address differences and data-type mismatches. Keep source references and review decisions in one handover report.
Excel XLSX · CSV / TSV · supported Siemens Openness XML. One CPU, up to 2,000 rows per table. No account or upload.
SEE THE OUTPUT
A discrepancy you can trace.
Every finding points back to the original records. Add questions, intentional-alias explanations or correction decisions, then save the review session and export every result to CSV or PDF.
Fictional example: 13 name groups, 7 need review, 6 match. These are demonstration files, not a customer result.

FROM EXPORT TO HANDOVER
Compare the documents.
Keep the decisions.
Suitable for automation integrators, machine builders and engineering teams preparing an I/O list handover.
Load the two tables
Use the same CPU and intended tag scope. Select a worksheet/header and map name, address and data type. Hidden and filtered rows are included.
Review the findings
Check each difference at its source. Formula caches, duplicate names and unsupported values remain questions for the reviewer.
Save the handover packet
Save the session, CSV and PDF. Reports include all groups even when the screen is filtered. The original files stay unchanged.
FIXED-SCOPE B2B SERVICE
Want us to prepare the review?
€149 total
One CPU. Two agreed tables, up to 2,000 rows each. Includes column mapping, the offline tool, a saved review session, a checked CSV/PDF discrepancy report and one mapping/report correction round on the same files.
No subscription or additional mandatory charges. Scope, delivery date and payment arrangements are agreed before ordering. A new file revision or wider scope needs a separate agreement.
KEEP A LOCAL COPY
Download once. Work offline.
Download the single HTML file and open it on your computer in desktop Chrome or Edge. It includes the app and fictional example. The interface and guide are in English. No installation, activation or trial timer.

FORMATS, FINDINGS AND LIMITS
Before you compare
Can I compare an Excel I/O list with a TIA Portal PLC tag export?
Yes, when both tables have tag names, supported addresses and data types. Load the XLSX export, choose the relevant worksheet (for example PLCTags or Tags) and its header, then confirm the column mappings. Native TIA project archives, DBs and UDTs are outside scope.
How are missing tags, duplicate names and address changes handled?
The tool matches exact names after trimming outer spaces. It reports missing or duplicate names, changed addresses or types, width mismatches and overlapping address ranges. Duplicate names and unsupported data stay unresolved. Review decisions annotate the findings; they do not erase differences.
Are my PLC files uploaded?
No. The browser tool processes selected files on your device. The website initially serves the app and workbook reader; there is no file-upload endpoint, account, analytics or automatic saving in TagCheck. Download the HTML tool for use without an internet connection. Save a session explicitly to resume later.
Is this a replacement for TIA Portal comparison or engineering approval?
No. TIA Portal already has comparison functions. TagCheck focuses on a separate engineering I/O list versus an exported tag table and a review packet. It does not check live equipment, wiring, program logic, CPU-specific limits or machine safety.
What is free, and what does €149 cover?
The browser tool and offline HTML download are free to use internally. The €149 total B2B service covers mapping and checking two agreed tables for one CPU, a saved session, CSV/PDF reports and one mapping/report correction round on the same files. No subscription. We agree scope and delivery date before an order.
What has been tested?
Version 1.0.0 passed 22 unit tests, 20 Chromium browser checks and 3,494 comparisons with a separately implemented Python reference. Inputs were fictional examples plus a public eight-tag Openness XML example. This is not a live TIA/customer installation qualification or an independent engineering audit.
Findings require engineering review. No PLC connection, automatic correction, machine approval or Siemens endorsement. Verification sources
